Vacationing at a beach is a great way to re-charge your batteries. At an All-Inclusive resort, you can truly relax and enjoy yourself without being worried about the cost of your food, drinks, and entertainment.
Recently, Elle and I stayed at a new resort in Playa Mujeres, a private resort community north of Cancun. Today's post is a brief overview of the Atelier Playa Mujeres.
Atelier Playa Mujeres is for adults and guests over 16 years, has 431 suites, and is inspired by the art and design of contemporary Mexico.
The white sand beach is long and great for walking and is great for swimming or playing in the water. In the picture above you can see Isla Mujeres on the horizon. This island protects the beach from storm damage and seaweed.
This picture is a small portion of the one large L-shaped pool that has different sections - 2 swim-up pool bars and an activity area where games and entertainment happen. The pool is designed with bumped-out areas to make it seem cozy and comfortable. Servers delivered drinks to your lounger steadily and the Bali beds were very popular.
There are 9 restaurants on-site and I have to say that this is some of the best food I've had at an all-inclusive resort. Food is subjective, but in my opinion, everything was freshly prepared, tasted divine, and was exactly the right portion (with enough room for dessert)! Some of the restaurants required reservations which are done with the concierge. The house wine was great, and they do offer a wine list if you're so inclined.
All of the rooms are large and decorated in a contemporary Mexican design. The bathroom with a large soaking tub can be open to the room or closed off with rolling barn doors. They have a variety of suites, including swim-out suites and suites with a plunge pool on your. balcony.
The Club Level Rooms are the same size and include access to a rooftop pool along with the typical club level amenities like elevated beach service and a club concierge.
All of the staff were friendly, attentive and made our stay memorable. One of the little things that made my stay enjoyable was not having to carry around a room key. At check-in you get a woven (removable) bracelet that opens your door, it looks nice and isn't bothersome.
Overall this is a great resort if you are a foodie, enjoy an adult atmosphere (they do have an adjoining resort for families) want a nice spa, and enjoy working out - the fitness center is huge and they offer a variety of classes daily.
