Have you wondered what it's like to be on a river cruise or more importantly will you be bored?
You'd have to work really hard to be bored because there are so many things to do. You could also choose to just relax, have a massage and do nothing in particular, if that's your wish.
Here’s an example of what a typical day is like. Of course, every day is going to be different and will be based on which line you are on as well as what river you are sailing.
6:00 am Earlybird breakfast is available in the lounge
6:30 am Yoga/stretching Class in the lounge
6:30 am – 8:30 am Breakfast in the dining room
8:00 am Small groups led by local tour guides explore the city on foot, motorcoach or bikes. You can choose to explore on your own, walking back the ship anytime you wish
8:00 am – 9:00 am Late riser breakfast in the lounge
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm Lunch in the dining room or weather permitting al fresca on the top deck
2:00 pm – 5:30 pm Afternoon to explore the city or take an immersive tour
6:00 pm Local musicians entertaining in the lounge
6:45 pm Daily port talk with the cruise director, describing tonight's activities and tomorrow's schedule
7:00 pm Dinner in the dining room
9:00 pm Trivia Challenge with the cruise director
9:30 - ??? Dancing in the lounge with the piano player
9:45 pm All Aboard ship sails for tomorrows port
Depending what river you are on, you may have 2 stops in one day or perhaps stay on the ship and sail through a picturesque portion of the river for the day. Most often the ship will sail through the night and you wake up to a new city in the morning.
It's great that you are free to participate in as many activities as you wish or be completely independent – the choice is yours.
